On That Note

The largest manufacturer of modular floor covering in the country, Interface was one of the first major companies in the world to pioneer sustainable manufacturing. Founder and visionary, Ray Anderson revolutionized the flooring and carpeting industries, then shared his environmentally responsible techniques with other industries. Ray formed an Eco Dream Team, a think tank of environmental experts, activists, scientists and entrepreneurs tasked with turning sustainability into an industry in its own right. Ray described the challenge of achieving carbon neutrality as akin to scaling “a mountain higher than Everest.” Mount Sustainability, as he called it, became a symbol of both the size and scope of the mission. Our fifteen-year relationship with Interface, InterfaceFlor and Flor marks one of our most important and rewarding collaborations.

Showtime at the Showroom

To achieve continuity between the advertising and marketing for InterfaceFlor and its presence at the Design and Interiors Show at NeoCon, we repurposed the sets built for the ad campaign and catalog. Visitors could play on the “real sets” and then experience the collection via the multi-dimensional world of augmented reality.

Italian design polymath Ettore Sottsass would have turned 103 years old in 2020, but his inimitable and wildly creative designs feel more relevant than ever. That’s why David Oakey of Pond Studios used the movement as inspiration for the Interfaceflor collection.
